Marco Boer on Printed Page Volumes; Co-Existence of Digital, Analog Output

VP of I T Strategies Marco Boer talks about the NPES Megatrends study he updated that forecasts future printed page volume growth by process and application. The study shows steady page growth, and reveals that digital and conventional printing output will co-exist for many years to come. Despite all the attention it receives, digital printing still only accounts for 3-4% of overall page volume. Boer will present the findings in more detail at the upcoming PRINT 17 show in Chicago this fall.

The Value of “Other” for Inkjet – Video

We caught up with Marco Boer again and got an answer to a question I’ve been wondering about for a while “What’s in that ‘Other’ category in all of your print volume forecasts?” I’ve been following I T Strategies for a long time, and periodically we see a category in their research emerge from “other” as its own inkjet segment with enough volume to warrant research. For example, most commercial print and graphic arts applications were incubating in the ‘other’ category until recently.
